READING NOTES
Document the exposure
Describe contact with water and soil, wet and dry cycling, coastal exposure and any known aggressive substances. State the project's intended service period as a design input. A broad description such as outdoor use leaves too much open when comparing protective systems.
Name the complete coating system
Ask quotations to identify the metallic coating and any additional polymer layer separately. Include the mesh wire, selvedge wire and supplied connection materials. Record the governing specification and required evidence rather than assuming a familiar finish name defines equivalent products.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Review construction handling
Discuss how the selected system will be protected during transport, assembly and stone filling. Request the supplier's instructions for inspecting damage and referring repairs for approval. Include storage and handling requirements in the contractor's information package before the material reaches site.
Compare durability evidence
Check that submitted technical information concerns the quoted wire and protective system under relevant conditions. Do not convert a generic brochure claim into a guaranteed project lifespan. Have the project designer review the proposed system alongside environmental information and maintenance access, then preserve the approved specification with the purchase order.
