Confirm the use before the specification

Approve a representative finished sample under recorded viewing conditions to make visual expectations useful for production.

Bring the application, site conditions and delivery requirements into the decision so the quotation can be built around a real project.

READING NOTES

01

Recreate the intended view

A sample held close to the eye shows individual holes, but may say little about a facade or equipment enclosure viewed from a distance. Set up the sample at a relevant distance with the intended background and light direction. For a backlit application, include the actual lighting arrangement or a representative mockup. Record these conditions with the sample approval.

02

Review more than the hole pattern

Check row direction, border proportions, color, sheen and the appearance of cut or formed edges. Compare adjacent pieces where a project needs continuity across joints. Mark the visible face and installed orientation. If the approval sample is smaller than the production panel, identify which aspects it establishes and which require a larger trial, particularly broad reflections or overall pattern alignment.

03

Keep an enduring reference

Retain the approved physical sample where practical and attach its identity to the drawing and finish specification. Use photographs to supplement it, recognizing that camera settings and screens can alter apparent color. For repeat batches, compare under the same recorded conditions. Agree how a changed coating, substrate or pattern layout will be reviewed before it becomes the basis for another production run.
