READING NOTES
Identify the critical contact
Mark the parts of the panel that people handle, a seal touches or a process stream passes. These interfaces may need different inspection methods. Include the punched holes, perimeter cuts, cutouts and fastening holes in the review. A supplier can meet an informal request for a smooth outer edge while leaving a different condition around the repeated perforations unless the order addresses both.
Agree a reviewable finish
Ask for a sample that includes the actual material, thickness and intended finishing sequence. Describe unacceptable projections, interference or loose material through agreed acceptance criteria, with specialist requirements where applicable. Do not ask inspectors to run bare fingers over potentially sharp edges. Use the agreed safe inspection method and verify gasket fit with the real mating components when sealing is part of the design.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Check residue after processing
Deburring and subsequent operations should be considered together with cleaning and packaging. Examine whether particles remain in holes, folds or protective wrapping. For hygienic or contamination sensitive applications, the project owner must establish the required cleanliness and suitability criteria. An attractive edge finish alone does not establish compliance with food, pharmaceutical or other regulated process requirements.
