DIRECT ANSWER

Confirm the use before the specification

Use shared reference edges to locate the first hole, pattern array, solid borders and mounting features on custom panels.

Bring the application, site conditions and delivery requirements into the decision so the quotation can be built around a real project.

READING NOTES

01

Establish the drawing origin

Select reference edges that relate to the way the panel will be installed or inspected. Locate the first hole center from those edges, then define the array. Include horizontal and vertical pitch and identify whether rows are straight or staggered. A hole size and one pitch dimension leave room for different layouts that may have the same density but different edge conditions.

02

Locate independent features clearly

Dimension mounting holes, cutouts and zone boundaries from the designated datums. Distinguish fastening holes from the repeated perforation pattern so they cannot be mistaken for missing or enlarged pattern holes. Where panels join, show the controlled relationship between their visible rows and the joint. Include a detail when the first or last row has a special termination.

03

Agree how the layout is checked

Identify the features that control fit and the measurement method needed to verify them. For a dense array, inspect first hole location and agreed pattern references rather than relying on a photograph of the center. Tie the drawing to a revision and approval date. Any change in the starting point should be assessed across the whole panel, including the far edge and adjoining parts.
