READING NOTES
Fix the product reference
Give every bidder the same approved specification and request a corresponding drawing reference. Include the product form, declared profile, core and tape materials, and finish. Ask suppliers to identify deviations explicitly rather than presenting a different construction under a similar product name.
Define the commercial unit
State how the offer must express quantity and price. Require a clear explanation of any declared length and whether the unit is a coil, package or mass. This makes differences visible before an apparently lower price becomes the preferred offer.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Draw the supply boundary
List the fittings and supporting components required by the approved system, identifying who supplies each item. Include protected packaging, package labels and the handling information needed at receipt. Clarify exclusions and whether separate components travel in separately labelled packages.
Request the acceptance documents
Specify the material declarations, relevant test evidence and batch references required by the project. Ask for delivery timing against the final approved specification. Keep the site risk and legal review with the project team; a quotation's completeness does not itself establish that a sharp wire product is appropriate for the location.
