READING NOTES
Define what the cover must do
Identify the objects or debris the cover is intended to intercept and the exposure around the tray. An open mesh cover is not a weatherproof electrical enclosure and does not establish an ingress protection rating. Have the electrical designer confirm whether the proposed arrangement is appropriate for the cables, installation environment and applicable project requirements, including electrical continuity or bonding where relevant.
Keep cables clear of cover details
Draw the supporting frame, retained edges and fasteners with the actual cable space beneath them. Avoid leaving wire tips, projecting hardware or loose parts where they could contact cable surfaces. Check that fastening does not interfere with adjoining tray fittings. Consider nearby work and dust accumulation when assessing whether the cover remains useful in service.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Make opening controlled and convenient
Choose cover sections that can be handled within the real maintenance space. Show how each section is retained, released and set aside without dropping parts onto equipment below. Trial the opening motion around pipes and adjacent trays. Record that the cover is not intended as a walking surface unless the entire supported assembly has been specifically engineered and validated for that use.
