READING NOTES
Describe the incoming mixture
Identify the liquid, likely residue and variation in operating condition before choosing a hole pattern. Include whether the tray is intended to retain solids or simply allow drainage. Ask the process designer to consider viscosity and discharge conditions, with a representative trial where drainage behavior is uncertain. Hole diameter alone cannot establish a drainage rate for every liquid or residue combination.
Follow the route to the outlet
Review the formed tray and its supports rather than only the flat perforated blank. Mark low points, solid borders and connections that could retain liquid or collect residue. Ensure the layout directs discharge to the intended collection area. If the tray has a containment or spill management role, have the responsible designer confirm that the complete system remains appropriate for that purpose.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Make cleaning observable
Show how cleaning reaches both faces and how residue is removed from corners and perforations. Check that the tray can be lifted or opened within the available space. Agree the material, edge finish and cleanliness criteria for the actual process, including compatibility with cleaning agents. During the trial, inspect for retained liquid after shutdown as well as drainage during normal flow.
