DIRECT ANSWER

Confirm the use before the specification

Coordinate hole shape, pitch, sheet thickness, margins and forming requirements before ordering perforated metal.

Bring the application, site conditions and delivery requirements into the decision so the quotation can be built around a real project.

READING NOTES

01

Explain the panel's function

A ventilation cover, sieve and decorative screen may use similar looking perforations while serving different purposes. Describe the required passage of air or material, viewing conditions and supporting structure. This makes the hole pattern a functional choice rather than an isolated visual preference.

02

Specify more than hole size

Record hole shape, dimensions, pitch, arrangement and material thickness. Include the size of the perforated area and the solid margins around it. Open area depends on the complete pattern, so compare patterns using the same stated basis rather than judging them from pictures.

03

Draw the finished component

Show folds, mounting holes, cutouts and the intended visible face. Have the fabricator review how the pattern relates to these features before the drawing is approved. Request confirmation of any proposed changes to margins or hole placement that affect fit or appearance.

04

Verify the delivered result

Agree how dimensions, flatness, edge condition and surface finish will be inspected. For visible installations, approve a sample under relevant lighting and viewing conditions. For functional panels, arrange application testing where needed before committing to a full production quantity.
