READING NOTES
Identify the mating component
Provide the disc's intended location in the filter housing, flange or retaining assembly. Record the finished outside diameter and agreed tolerance on a controlled drawing. Where sealing or retention depends on the edge, show the interface rather than supplying only a mesh count.
Describe the required edge
Ask the fabricator to identify the proposed cut and finishing method. State whether an exposed edge, rim or other specified treatment is needed. Do not assume that a nominal diameter includes a burr free, protected or sealed perimeter unless the order says so.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Review layers and flatness
For multilayer discs, identify the layer sequence and the intended flow direction. Have the equipment designer check the support and sealing arrangement. Record the flatness requirement in a form that can be inspected, particularly where the disc must sit within a shallow recess.
Approve a representative piece
Check assembly fit and the agreed edge condition using the intended mating parts. Include cleaning and manual replacement in the review. Preserve the approved sample reference, drawing and packaging requirements so subsequent batches reproduce the complete disc instead of an approximate circular cutout from similar cloth.
