READING NOTES
Define what matters in service
A filtration component, visible partition and formed equipment guard may need different acceptance details. Identify which surfaces will be visible, touched or fitted against another part. Record these priorities before using a general surface quality phrase in the order.
Make flatness inspectable
Agree how the mesh will be supported or laid during measurement, the area inspected and the acceptance basis. Distinguish the delivered condition from the final condition after mounting. A flexible roll and a framed panel should not be judged using an unstated common setup.

Describe appearance conditions
For visible mesh, agree the sample, viewing conditions and treatment of joins, edges and colour variation. For functional mesh, keep opening and construction requirements in the same specification. A pleasing surface cannot demonstrate that the component meets its filtration or assembly requirement.
Protect the approved condition
Include suitable interleaving, support and package identification where handling could affect the accepted surface or shape. Inspect representative material using the agreed method and document disputed areas with location references. Preserve the sample approval and drawing revision so repeat orders follow the same standard rather than a subjective recollection of the previous batch.
