READING NOTES
Define the diameter being accepted
State the nominal wire diameter and agreed tolerance with its governing specification. If surface treatments or special wire shapes are involved, clarify what the reported dimension represents. Keep warp and weft requirements separate where the mesh construction uses different wires.
Agree a suitable method
Choose measuring equipment and a procedure appropriate to the wire size and construction. Confirm the instrument's condition and resolution. A measurement taken at an intersection may not represent the same feature as an agreed measurement on an accessible wire section, so record the intended location.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Sample beyond the edge
Agree representative sampling across the supplied material and batches. Do not rely on one convenient point at a roll edge to describe the entire shipment. Record individual readings, sample references and the method used rather than reporting only an untraceable average.
Relate discrepancies to the order
If readings fall outside the agreed acceptance basis, identify the affected rolls or pieces and request a review. Check the associated opening and construction information before deciding on disposition. Keep the measurement record with the batch documents, allowing later discussions to use the same evidence instead of subjective comparisons by touch or appearance.
