READING NOTES
Give the panel a fixed reference
A rectangular opening has two directions, and the order in which they appear on a quotation can be misunderstood. Draw the panel in its installed orientation, identify its width and height, and name one reference edge. Show an arrow for the long opening rather than relying on a dimension pair alone. Identify which wire set faces outward if that matters to a frame or mating surface.
Carry orientation through fabrication
For a shaped panel, locate cutouts, bends and fixing points from the same datum. A panel rotated during cutting can retain the correct outside dimensions while putting the grid or protruding wires in the wrong relationship to its supports. Include a front view and a small detail of the wire crossing where the drawing could otherwise be read either way.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Make receiving checks practical
Put the drawing reference and orientation mark on the bundle label, with removable panel markings where needed. Check a representative piece against the actual frame before approving the batch. Review left and right handed parts separately: visually similar outlines do not establish that their grid direction and mounting details are interchangeable.
