READING NOTES
Define the requested change
State the old requirement and the proposed replacement for material, dimensions, finish, quantity or packaging. Identify the purchase order and drawing revision affected. A message such as make it wider is insufficient if several parts or dimensions could reasonably be changed.
Check connected items
Review posts, frames, fasteners and mating equipment when mesh dimensions move. A coating change may also affect appearance approval or the inspection plan. Ask the supplier to identify material already purchased, work completed and packages already prepared before the change is released.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Set the effective point
Record which production batch or item range uses the new requirement. Obtain acknowledgement from the people responsible for production, inspection and packing. Issue updated documents with a clear revision so the original and changed products cannot share an ambiguous acceptance reference.
Reconfirm cost and timing
Review any effect on price, completion dates and transport arrangements. Keep the approved change record with the order rather than scattering decisions across informal messages. At dispatch, ensure labels and inspection records identify the actual version supplied, particularly where old and revised items must travel together.
