READING NOTES
Identify what controls performance
List the characteristics that determine whether the mesh can be used: overall dimensions, openings, wire diameter, flatness, surface condition and quantity. Their importance varies between a fence panel, filter cloth and precision cut insert. Mark the features that directly control fit or the intended process.
Agree measurement methods
Specify the reference points, instrument type and condition of the item during inspection where these affect results. A roll measured under tension and a loose cut piece may not provide comparable readings. Resolve those differences in the acceptance plan before the first production inspection.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Document limits and sampling
Record the agreed tolerance for each relevant characteristic and the number or distribution of items to be checked. If a recognized specification is invoked, identify its exact applicable edition and scope through the responsible project team. Avoid relying on an unexplained statement that the product meets standard tolerance.
Define the response to deviations
Agree how questionable items will be identified, segregated and reviewed. Retain inspection records against the purchase order and drawing revision. This gives both parties a consistent basis for resolving a delivery issue without inventing new acceptance criteria after arrival.
