READING NOTES
Review the slope as it exists
Compare the design survey with the actual terrain before arranging deliveries. Mark changes in gradient, corners, soft areas and restricted access. The responsible engineer should assess discrepancies so the works do not depend on baskets being forced to accommodate an unreviewed ground profile.
Confirm the basket arrangement
Use the approved layout to identify woven double twist gabion types, sizes and connection components. Show transitions and the relationship between adjacent layers or units. Do not substitute welded baskets for woven units without a review of the product and design implications.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Resolve fill and drainage details
Provide proposed stone characteristics and grading for approval against the selected mesh. Check that the specified drainage arrangement is coordinated with the slope and adjacent ground. Filling or closing units should follow the accepted construction method, with project supervision addressing any unexpected condition.
Plan practical site checks
Agree how ground preparation, supplied mesh, fill and connections will be documented. Coordinate material staging with the available machinery route and work sequence. Keep records of approved changes so subsequent sections use the current details, particularly when the terrain varies from one part of the slope to another.
