READING NOTES
Replace the broad material label
An order that says only galvanized mesh leaves several details open. Request the base material, coating process and stage at which coating is applied. If the product also has a colored outer layer, list that finish separately so it is not confused with the zinc treatment.
Explain the exposure
Describe outdoor wetting, sheltered dampness, coastal conditions or process contact as applicable. Include relevant cleaning and maintenance practices. Ask the project specialist to confirm the treatment basis for demanding environments rather than treating all outdoor installations as equivalent.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Set an acceptance description
Agree the coating information that must accompany the product, together with the inspection method and any project limits. Describe appearance expectations separately, including visible surfaces and areas subsequently cut or welded. Photographs can support the review but should not replace the agreed coating measurements or documentation.
Keep offers comparable
Review proposed finishing scope line by line, including accessories and fabricated edges. Record any exclusions or finishing operations left to another party. Before placing the order, make sure the quotation and the product drawing use the same coating description, so the acceptance basis survives the handover from purchasing to inspection.
