READING NOTES
Identify the part before measuring
Begin the inspection sheet with the order, item reference, material batch where required and approved drawing revision. Include the delivered quantity and the sample selection. For mixed sizes, use separate entries so a result for one panel cannot be mistaken for acceptance of the whole shipment. Record the inspection date and the equipment used for measured characteristics.
Locate each measurement
Use the drawing datums to identify the checked hole diameter, pitch, first hole position and border widths. Include outside dimensions, relevant mounting features, thickness and agreed flatness checks. Record actual findings alongside acceptance limits rather than entering a general tick for dimensions. Photographs should show the relevant location and scale when they support a measurement, especially for unusual profiles or interrupted patterns.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Close out discrepancies clearly
Separate measured deviations from cosmetic observations and packaging damage. State the disposition of affected pieces and any outstanding approval. Retain the packing list and sample identities with the report so questions raised during installation can be traced to the inspected items. This record helps distinguish an incorrect panel layout from an installation datum or assembly alignment problem.
