READING NOTES
Protect the actual contact surfaces
Identify which faces are decorative, coated or otherwise sensitive before selecting packaging. Agree suitable clean separators and any protective film with the finish supplier, including removal instructions. Keep abrasive debris out of the stack. Formed pieces and irregular profiles may require dedicated supports so their edges do not concentrate force on the visible face of the next panel.
Support the package as a unit
Choose a pallet or support arrangement that suits the panel dimensions and receiving equipment. Show where straps and bearers will contact the stack, with protection that prevents restraint loads from damaging hole edges or corners. Thin panels can be difficult to separate after transport if the package is compressed unevenly. Ask for a packing proposal rather than assuming a tightly strapped flat stack is sufficient.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Plan unpacking and storage
Label the package with item identities and opening information where sequence matters. Provide a stable area to set panels down after separators are removed. Check the condition of protective layers and packaging at receipt, and record visible damage before distributing the pieces. Include outdoor exposure and moisture management in the packaging review when the delivery or storage route requires them.
