READING NOTES
Define the change precisely
Record the affected part, current drawing revision and proposed tooling or machine change. Identify whether the change concerns hole shape, edge condition, pitch control or another production characteristic. Even when the nominal hole description remains the same, the team should know which characteristics require comparison. Include the planned point at which the new process would enter the order.
Compare relevant trial pieces
Inspect a trial against the approved specification and retained sample. Check the actual hole geometry, row arrangement, edge condition and any features that control the finished appearance. If the panel will be formed or coated, include those operations where they could reveal a difference that is hard to see on an unfinished blank. Record who reviewed the trial and which evidence supported the decision.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Mark the production boundary
Connect the approval to the first affected batch and maintain identification for earlier material. Avoid mixing trial pieces into a shipment without an explicit disposition. For repeat orders, update the manufacturing reference so the approved change is carried forward consistently. If a later issue appears, this boundary helps the team investigate a defined group of parts instead of treating the entire order as indistinguishable.
