READING NOTES
Map the active sound area
Locate the speaker driver or sound opening behind the panel before positioning the perforated field. Mark portions concealed by solid borders, logos, brackets or backing layers. The full sheet's nominal open area may differ from the area available directly in front of the source. Use the equipment designer's acoustic requirements to guide the layout rather than choosing a pattern solely for its appearance.
Review the assembled stack
Include mesh or fabric backing, coatings and the grille's distance from nearby components in the section drawing. Check mounting clearances and contact points that could permit unwanted movement or rattling. Ask the product designer to assess panel stiffness and retention in the completed assembly. A thicker sheet or a larger open area does not by itself guarantee a particular sound result.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Test the finished product
Evaluate a finished grille in the actual enclosure through the manufacturer's specified acoustic and functional checks. Include appearance under the intended light, especially when matching several devices. Record the approved hole layout, material, finish and mounting details. If a later revision changes the pattern, backing or fixing arrangement, review it as part of the product configuration rather than approving it from a flat sample alone.
