READING NOTES
Request the supplier's drawing
A code such as BTO-22, BTO-30 or BTO-60 should lead to a defined product drawing. Ask each bidder to provide that drawing and its revision. Do not assume the code alone establishes identical dimensions or interchangeable stock across suppliers.
Record the material construction
Include the declared tape material, core wire and surface protection in the comparison. Identify which dimensions are controlled and what acceptance method is proposed. These records support procurement traceability without making unsupported claims about the relative security performance of different profiles.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Clarify the supply unit
State whether pricing is per coil, package, mass or another agreed unit. Record the packaged dimensions and the supplier's declared supply basis. Ask the site team to verify compatibility with the already approved boundary system before accepting a substitute profile.
Keep safety review separate
Have the authorised site specialist assess personnel exposure, local requirements and maintenance arrangements for any proposed product. Request handling documentation with the order and ensure receiving staff can identify each package. The final approval should reference the complete specification, rather than a short code copied from an earlier invoice without its supporting drawing.
