READING NOTES
Distinguish package and product dimensions
Coil diameter describes only part of a razor wire order. Request a drawing that identifies the tape profile and core construction as well as the packaged form. Keep these dimensions separate on the enquiry so bidders answer the same questions.
Use labelled measurement references
Ask the supplier to show where tape width, profile length and repeated spacing are measured. Written labels and a revision reference reduce ambiguity where terminology differs. The aim is to identify the contracted product consistently, rather than infer performance from a single dimension.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Check the approved system interface
Refer the proposed construction to the professional responsible for the existing perimeter specification. Confirm that the product and supplied fittings match the approved system. Any alteration affecting public exposure or maintenance access needs the site's risk review before purchasing approval.
Define receipt evidence
Agree which dimensions will be confirmed through documentation and which require controlled inspection by trained personnel. Avoid opening hazardous packages merely to obtain casual photographs. Keep batch labels, the accepted drawing and inspection findings together so a discrepancy can be resolved with the supplier using a precise product reference.
