READING NOTES
Identify the fence's purpose
Confirm whether the proposed mesh provides boundary definition, access control or another specified function. A wire mesh fence should not be assumed to serve as a vehicle restraint system. Establish the intended duty with the road authority and project designer before choosing a product.
Survey the route in context
Record slopes, ditches, culverts, junctions, entrances and nearby facilities. Include ground levels and the locations where the fence changes direction. A plan showing only total length can hide the transitions that complicate post positions and panel connections.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Resolve road and ground interfaces
Have the responsible project team assess sightlines, drainage access and the foundation arrangement. Check that proposed work does not conflict with services or maintenance routes. Special locations should receive project details rather than an assumption that the straight run assembly applies everywhere.
Link the schedule to the layout
Separate standard panels from transition, corner, end and gate components. Identify each section in the delivery documents to simplify site distribution. Before installation begins, confirm the current approved route and communicate changes through revised drawings so ordering and site work remain coordinated.
