READING NOTES
Describe what touches the mesh
List the process material, water chemistry and cleaning substances, including their operating concentrations and temperatures where known. Add exposure during shutdown and storage. These details help a materials specialist assess conditions that a simple indoor or outdoor label can miss.
Understand the grade comparison
304 and 316 are common stainless grade families, but neither is a universal solution. Chloride containing environments can create local corrosion concerns, particularly around crevices. Ask for an application specific grade recommendation rather than assuming a change to 316 resolves every problem.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Include construction and cleaning
Provide the weave or welded construction, edge treatment and any supporting frame. Describe deposits, liquid retention and cleaning access. Review the complete component, since a suitable wire grade alone does not establish that joints and trapped residue are acceptable for the process.
Obtain a traceable specification
State the exact accepted material designation and the documents required to link it to the supplied batch. Avoid using food grade or stainless as the only acceptance description. Where service conditions are uncertain, agree how representative testing or further process information will support the final selection before committing to repeated production orders.
