READING NOTES
Begin with the separation task
Describe what must pass through the mesh and what must remain behind. Record the material, particle shape and whether the process handles liquid, gas or dry solids. A familiar mesh count alone does not provide a complete purchasing description.
Define the opening and wire
Ask for the actual aperture, wire diameter, weave and material designation on the same specification. For a square opening, the space between adjacent wires matters directly to the separation task. Confirm how that opening will be measured and reported rather than relying on a product photograph.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Consider the installed mesh
A filter element, loose screen and protective panel place different demands on the material. Show the supplier the support arrangement, exposed area and proposed edge fixing. Include any cutting, forming or cleaning that the mesh must tolerate after delivery.
Approve a usable reference
Review a labeled sample against the written dimensions and test it under representative operating conditions where practical. Keep the approved specification with the sample. This gives repeat orders a clear reference if aperture, rigidity or cleaning performance later needs adjustment.
