READING NOTES
Define the filtration target
Describe the medium, contaminants and required separation. Record the operating flow and relevant process conditions for the filter designer. A replacement request based only on mesh count can omit differences in opening, weave and the support needed by the original element.
Review the assembled element
Identify the mesh material and weave together with its edge treatment, support layers and fixing arrangement. Show the available filter area and how the element seals into the housing. Have the responsible designer assess operating pressure differences and the complete flow path before approving a substitute cloth.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Include the cleaning cycle
Explain how the filter is cleaned, which chemicals are used and whether it is removed from the housing. Review material compatibility and handling with the technical team. Deposits, repeated cleaning and damage during removal should inform the maintenance plan and the replacement criteria.
Validate the proposed replacement
Where practical, test a representative element under controlled process conditions and record retention, flow behavior and cleaning observations. Keep the accepted element specification and sample identification with the equipment records. Revisit the selection if the medium, production rate or cleaning method changes.
