READING NOTES
Describe the operating environment
Record the process medium, temperature range, wetting pattern and surrounding atmosphere. Include cleaning agents, cleaning frequency and expected deposits. An indoor application can still expose mesh to aggressive conditions, while an outdoor description alone does not identify the relevant corrosion risks.
Request a specific material designation
Avoid purchasing by broad names such as steel or stainless alone. Ask for the proposed grade or material designation and its supporting documentation. Where corrosion performance matters, have the responsible materials specialist review compatibility with the complete operating conditions before the material is approved.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Include the component's function
State whether the mesh filters, screens, guards or supports another layer. Explain the mounting arrangement and any forming or welding required afterward. Material suitability must be considered with the actual component, including contacts with adjacent materials and the way the finished assembly will be cleaned.
Evaluate the service plan
Compare purchase cost with inspection, cleaning and replacement access. Agree what records must accompany the shipment and retain the approved exposure description. If the process medium or cleaning method changes, revisit the material decision instead of automatically repeating the previous order.
