READING NOTES
Start with the usable interior
For a basket, tray or enclosure, establish the finished internal space and the objects or equipment it must accommodate. Locate handles, access openings and any feet before developing the flat mesh shape. Outside dimensions alone can conceal a corner seam or reinforcement that occupies space needed by the contents. State whether a removable liner or mating lid is part of the fit check.
Resolve each corner connection
Show the bend lines and explain how adjoining faces meet. Folded returns, overlaps and separate corner members produce different interfaces. Identify where reinforcement ends, how it connects and whether exposed wire tips need enclosing. Ask the fabricator to review the proposed forming and joining sequence, including access for the last connection, before treating the flat layout as final.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Trial the finished form
Assess a formed sample with its actual mating parts. Look for corners that spread, a rim that twists and openings obstructed by joining hardware. Where the basket carries material, the project engineer should confirm the intended load and support arrangement. A convenient mesh size or a neat corner joint does not establish a carrying capacity for the completed basket.
