DIRECT ANSWER

Confirm the use before the specification

Agree sampling locations, evaluation methods and acceptance boundaries before inspecting welded mesh intersections.

Bring the application, site conditions and delivery requirements into the decision so the quotation can be built around a real project.

READING NOTES

01

Define the inspection question

Visual inspection can identify visible irregularities, but the record should distinguish appearance from joint performance. Establish which characteristics matter to the application and which test method or purchase standard will be used. State who approves the acceptance criteria. Avoid treating a close photograph of a clean intersection as evidence of a load rating for the finished panel.

02

Make sampling reproducible

Record the batch identity and the position of each sample within the roll or panel. Include edge and interior locations where the agreed sampling plan requires them. If a destructive test is specified, document specimen preparation, equipment, test method and observed result. Keep the tested sample identity linked to the original material so a later review can determine exactly what was evaluated.

03

Record the decision and disposition

Use measured findings and a clear pass, hold or reject decision against the agreed criteria. Describe how a failed result affects the remaining batch and who authorizes additional investigation. Retain photographs as supporting evidence alongside the method and results. For structural or safety related uses, the project engineer should establish the required performance evidence for the complete mesh assembly.
