READING NOTES
Define the product form
A common mistake with welded wire mesh is to specify only an opening and a wire diameter. The panel size, edge treatment, supporting structure and operating environment also determine whether the product will work as intended. The same opening behaves differently in rolls, cut panels and framed fence panels.
Pair opening and wire
Opening affects visibility, passage and local support. Wire diameter affects stiffness, weld performance and the risk of deformation in transport. A light partition can prioritise economy and easy fabrication, while shelving, machine guards and fence panels require the frame and post spacing to be assessed at the same time.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Product form | Roll, cut panel or framed panel | Finished size, edge treatment and support |
| Core specification | Opening, wire diameter and weld stiffness | Use, tolerance and transport risk |
| Finish | Pre-galvanised, post-weld galvanised or coated | Appearance, corrosion performance and packing |
Finish and fabrication
Finish must be agreed in advance. Pre-galvanised wire welded into mesh, hot-dip galvanising after welding and polymer coating do not provide the same appearance or corrosion resistance. A vague request for galvanised mesh is not enough for a reliable quotation.
Complete enquiry details
Include application, finished size, opening, wire diameter, tolerance, finish, quantity and packing in the enquiry. This produces a buildable offer rather than a theoretical unit price.
