READING NOTES
Give the sample an identity
Label the sample with its product description, material, date and relevant drawing revision. Record who supplied it and which intended order it represents. A loose, unlabeled piece may communicate a general look but cannot reliably define a repeat production requirement.
Inspect the relevant features
Measure the dimensions, opening and wire details required by the specification. Examine flatness, edge condition and surface appearance. Where the mesh must enter a frame or machine, assess the sample in that interface rather than accepting it only from a desk inspection.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Record conditional approval
State exactly what has been accepted and what still requires adjustment. For example, appearance may be acceptable while the edge detail remains under review. Photographs should show the sample identification and inspection context, supported by written measurements where dimensions control the result.
Connect the sample to the order
Retain an approved reference and a matching specification record. Include packaging expectations if layers, bundles or labels affect assembly at the destination. Before bulk production, confirm that the supplier is working to the same accepted version, particularly when the sample was made before the final drawing changed.
