READING NOTES
Forecast the actual demand
Separate initial installation quantities, planned later phases and maintenance stock. List sizes individually rather than combining all mesh into one area figure. This shows whether a larger purchase is genuinely useful or merely transfers a storage problem from the supplier to the site.
Define manageable packaging units
Discuss pieces per bundle, rolls per package and accessory carton contents. Obtain packaged dimensions and weight information before finalizing the receiving plan. Match the package format to available unloading equipment and the route from the delivery point to the work area.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Align batches with the programme
For phased deliveries, identify which components must arrive together. A batch of panels may have little practical value if matching posts or fixings arrive later. Ask how partial shipments will be labeled and how quantities will be reconciled against the complete order.
Compare total handling effort
Include packing, transport, unloading, storage and internal distribution when reviewing commercial options. Record the agreed package contents on the order and packing list. If quantity changes later, review the packaging plan again so bundle sizes and staged delivery arrangements still suit the project.
