DIRECT ANSWER

Confirm the use before the specification

Review the drawing as a production and installation document with clear datums, revisions and component interfaces.

Bring the application, site conditions and delivery requirements into the decision so the quotation can be built around a real project.

READING NOTES

01

Establish the controlling document

Give each drawing a number, revision and approval status. Identify which file governs production if a model, sketch and specification are supplied together. Remove obsolete versions from the approval pack so the people making and inspecting the mesh work from the same information.

02

Check dimensions and patterns

Review overall dimensions, openings, wire or sheet thickness and the position of cutouts. For perforated parts, show pattern orientation and solid margins. For framed mesh, distinguish the mesh dimensions from the finished frame and identify the surfaces used as measurement references.

03

Resolve fabrication details

Show bends, weld locations, edges and connection holes where they affect fit or appearance. Indicate the installed direction and visible face. Ask the fabricator to flag unclear details before approval rather than allowing workshop interpretation to become the production standard.

04

Review the assembly interface

Compare the part with the actual supports, adjoining panels and fastening method. Record agreed changes directly in the revised drawing. The final signoff should confirm both the part geometry and the version used for inspection, giving procurement and installation teams a shared reference.
