READING NOTES
Start with use and function
The main difficulty in a custom wire mesh project is often not production but an incomplete brief. A photograph or a request to copy a sample can leave dimensions, material, opening pattern and finish open to interpretation.
Finished size and material
A useful enquiry starts with the application and the function that must be met, such as load support, filtration, enclosure, corrosion resistance or appearance. Then provide finished dimensions, opening or pattern, wire diameter or sheet thickness, material, finish, quantity and acceptable tolerance.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application function | Load support, filtration, enclosure, corrosion or appearance | Required function and environment |
| Product specification | Dimensions, pattern, wire/sheet thickness, material and finish | Tolerance, frame, bends and fixing holes |
| Project delivery | Drawings, samples, quantity and revision | Timing, destination and packing |
Drawings, revisions and samples
If drawings are available, mark critical dimensions, bends, welds, frames, fixing holes and installation direction. For repeat orders, retain an approved sample number or revision so later batches do not rely on verbal changes.
Timing and packing
Finally, state target delivery date, destination, sample requirement and packing needs. With complete information, the supplier can assess manufacturability, material purchasing, processing and delivery as one plan.
