READING NOTES
Identify the quoted form
Ask suppliers to label whether the offer concerns a flat arrangement or a concertina construction and provide the corresponding drawing. Separate packaged size from the supplier's declared dimensions for the approved application. Product names alone do not create a reliable comparison.
Refer to the authorised layout
Provide bidders with the relevant approved system reference rather than asking them to improvise a boundary arrangement. Have the responsible specialist review the compatibility of any proposed alternative with the existing support structure, neighbouring property and normal site use.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Consider service access
Maintenance staff need a reviewed means of reaching adjacent equipment and inspecting the boundary. Record access constraints and gate interfaces in the site assessment. A supply form that appears convenient in a catalogue may be inappropriate where people routinely work nearby.
Compare the full purchasing scope
List product units, specified fittings, protective packaging and handling documentation for both offers. Do not equate declared lengths unless they use the same approved basis. Resolve uncertainties through the site designer and supplier before ordering, then preserve the accepted form and drawing reference for future repair or replacement purchases.
