READING NOTES
Survey the existing support
Provide the designer with information about the wall, fence posts and previous alterations. Record uncertain or damaged areas for assessment. Existing masonry, concrete and fence systems should not be assumed to accept the same attachment merely because their tops appear similar.
Request a coordinated detail
The approved system drawing should identify compatible supports, connections and product references. Procurement needs these references to obtain a complete offer. Bracket form and orientation belong to the professional's reviewed layout, including its assessment of neighbouring areas and personnel exposure.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Review maintainability
Ask how inspection and nearby maintenance will be carried out under the site's safety arrangements. Include gate operation, adjacent equipment and access restrictions in the review. Changes introduced to simplify purchasing should return to the designer if they alter these interfaces.
Order by approved reference
Match support and fitting quantities to the signed off schedule. Require identifiable component packages and supporting material information where specified. Before release for installation, confirm that the delivered parts correspond to the approved detail. Refer discrepancies for a documented decision instead of allowing improvised adapters or unreviewed changes to an existing wall.
