READING NOTES
Establish the protection objective
Describe what the proposed mesh is intended to do and identify the slope assessment supporting that choice. Surface erosion control and rockfall protection require different systems. A generic mesh description cannot replace a geotechnical review of the actual ground.
Coordinate anchoring with the ground
Request the approved anchoring layout and the method for confirming ground conditions during work. Mark areas where soil, exposed rock or vegetation changes. Any discrepancy between the survey and the site should be referred to the designer before the installation proceeds through that area.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Keep drainage visible in the plan
Overlay water collection paths, drains and outlets on the mesh layout. Review how the specified overlaps and terminations interact with those features. Include access for inspecting drainage after completion; covering an unresolved drainage detail does not resolve the underlying site condition.
Review the construction sequence
Ask the contractor to document slope access, material handling and inspection hold points under the project safety plan. Record installed mesh references, anchoring inspections and approved changes. These records allow later maintenance teams to distinguish the intended arrangement from a loose edge or a change caused by ground movement.
