READING NOTES
Start with the material being handled
Describe the particles or process medium, the intended separation and the cleaning method. A fine filter, general sieve and backing layer should not be selected solely by a familiar weave name. Include the operating conditions that the sample must represent.
Compare complete weave specifications
Plain and twilled weaves describe different wire interlacing arrangements. Request the weave, aperture information, wire diameters and material designation together. If a filtration weave is proposed, ask how its filtration characteristics are specified; do not assume that every woven cloth has a simple visible square opening.
DECISION TABLE
Confirm the parameters against the project
Start with the application, then carry the required checks into the enquiry.Swipe horizontally on mobile to view the full table| Decision area | What to assess | Confirm in the enquiry |

| Application | Define the actual application | Environment, function and installation |
| Specification | Confirm product and dimensions | Material, specification, quantity and tolerance |
| Delivery | Align packing and destination | Timing, packing, drawings or photos |
Consider conversion into a part
Tell the supplier whether the mesh will be cut, stamped, folded or fitted into a frame. Specify the required flatness and edge condition of the finished component. Review sample pieces after the proposed conversion process when handling or assembly is important.
Make a documented selection
Evaluate the sample in its intended support and cleaning arrangement where practical. Record which characteristic led to approval, such as separation behavior or fit. Preserve that information with the agreed weave specification, giving later orders a useful technical reference beyond the original product name.
